Thesis and dissertation formatting

Group formatting sessions

Please join us for our fall thesis/project/dissertation formatting sessions! During these sessions, we will review the submission process and timeline, as well as the common formatting errors.

This is a great place to ask questions and to gain a better understanding of the UAF formatting guidelines (PDF).  The students who participate in our formatting sessions usually have fewer errors to correct at the time of submission, which also reduces the amount of stress they experience in the final stages of finishing their degree.

These sessions will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 am, Thursday, October 24th at 5 pm, and Saturday, October 26th at 10 am. They will be both in person, and on Zoom. Please RSVP using the form above to let us know how you will be attending!

One-on-one thesis/project formatting sessions

One-on-one formatting sessions are strictly limited to one-half hour meeting over Zoom.

Please note that these sessions are primarily intended for those who are planning on graduating in the current semester. As such, your dissertation/thesis/project should be in near final draft form. Prior to requesting a session, please refer back to the Graduate School's Dissertation/Thesis/Project Formatting Handbook (PDF) as it will answer many questions and help guide your formatting.

Please be advised, the Graduate School does not accept 1:1 formatting requests within two weeks of the thesis/dissertation submittal deadline.

To schedule a session, please submit a request below. Once your appointment has been confirmed, you will receive a Zoom link via Google Calendar invite.
